Product Designer

I design products that help people understand and interact with complex information.

As a Product Designer, my work combines human-centered design, engineering, data visualization, artificial intelligence, and cognitive science to create products that transform complex data into meaningful user experiences. Rather than focusing solely on interface design, I design how information is represented, how users think through problems, and how technology supports decision-making.

My design process is grounded in research. I use quantitative and qualitative UX methods—including usability testing, interviews, behavioral analysis, experiments, eye-tracking, and data analytics—to understand how people learn, interpret information, and interact with digital products. These insights guide every stage of product development, from defining user needs and product strategy to prototyping, evaluation, and implementation.

At the National Science Foundation's National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NSF NCSES), I have led the design of interactive data tools, dashboard experiences, AI-assisted analytics, accessibility features, and visualization systems that enable researchers, policymakers, and the public to explore complex national science and engineering data. My work spans product strategy, UX research, interaction design, information architecture, data storytelling, web experience design, and cross-functional collaboration with engineers, statisticians, researchers, and stakeholders.

My broader design portfolio includes AI-powered educational technologies, geospatial visualization systems, digital twins, immersive learning environments, and intelligent decision-support platforms. Across these projects, my goal remains the same: to bridge advanced engineering with human cognition by designing products that are intuitive, evidence-based, and impactful.

I am particularly interested in designing products that integrate AI, interactive visualization, multiple external representations, and data-driven storytelling to help people learn, discover insights, and make better decisions. Whether building government data platforms, scientific visualization tools, educational technologies, or enterprise products, I believe great product design begins with understanding how people think.
