As a Research Fellow at the National Science Foundation's National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NSF NCSES), I have contributed to a wide range of research, product development, and data innovation initiatives, including:

Data Tool Design & Product Innovation

  • Led the conceptual design of a next-generation interactive data tool to improve the accessibility and exploration of NSF statistical data.

  • Developed design concepts and product specifications that have informed one of the agency's strategic priorities for future data tool development over the next five years.

User Experience (UX) Research

  • Designed and conducted mixed-methods UX research using publicly available datasets to evaluate user needs, perceptions, and interactions with new data tools and statistical products.

  • Proposed an innovative computer vision–assisted interview methodology to support user research, enabling interviewers to capture richer behavioral insights and improve data collection.

Data Analytics & Data Storytelling

  • Performed exploratory data analysis and statistical analyses to identify meaningful patterns within NSF datasets.

  • Optimized data structures and visual communication strategies to enhance data storytelling and improve the effectiveness of scientific visualizations.

Program Coordination & Interagency Collaboration

  • Coordinated communication and collaboration between NSF NCSES and Data.gov to support federal open data initiatives and improve data accessibility.

Web Product Design & Development

  • Collaborated with web developers and product teams to improve the NCSES web experience.

  • Designed wireframes, mockups, and interface concepts for new webpages and interactive data products.

Statistical Research Support

  • Provided statistical analysis and methodological support for multiple NCSES survey programs, contributing to data interpretation, quality assurance, and evidence-based reporting.

Training & Knowledge Development

  • Contributed to the development of training materials for the U.S. Restricted Data Standard Application Process (SAP), supporting researchers and stakeholders in accessing restricted-use federal datasets.
